The success of the students of NTUU "KPI" in the final of the All-Ukrainian Olympiad in Mathematics

The final round of Ukrainian Olympiad in Mathematics among technical universities held from 14 to 17 May 2013. at the Sevastopol National Technical University. It was organized according to the order of Ministry of Education of Ukraine. The final was attended by 111 winners of the First Round contest, who came from 46 universities of Ukraine. Our university was represented by two teams who played in two categories: "M" (specialties, requiring an in-depth study of mathematics) and "T" (technical specialties). The students of NTUU "KPI" took the following places:

in the "M": E.Y. Polishchuk (IASA, 3rd year) - first place, V.V. Michael (IASA, 1 year) - second place, V.A. Onischuk (IASA, 3rd year) - third place;

Kyiv Polytechnic Institute has a great traditions in conducting of mathematical Olympiads and its students consistently take prizes in national and international competitions. Over the last two years our students have received four prizes at the top-level international student mathematical olympiad IMC (International Mathematics Competition for University Students), whose participants were students of more than 170 leading universities.

Preparation and selection of students to participate in national and international competitions are carry out by the department of mathematical analysis and probability theory FMF, which successfully working on finding talented young people and their involvement to the contest for many years. Therefore, a student circle "Custom and Olympiad problems of algebra and analysis" work for many years at the department, where docents A.B. Ilienko and I.V. Orlovsky prepare students for successful performance on math competitions.

We wish finalists of Ukrainian Student Olympiad, who represented NTUU "KPI", continued success in studying and research work and success at the highest level Olympiads.
