The Higher Mathematics Department №1 was transformed into Mathematical Analysis and Probability Theory Departmen due to the formation of Faculty of Physics and Mathematics in 1996 and it was made the graduating department. Mathematical Analysis and Probability Theory department has 63 highly qualified lecturers including 8 professors and 30 associate professors.
From 1986 to 2012 the head of the department was Honored Worker of Science of Ukraine (2009), Laureate of the State Prize of Ukraine (2003), Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Professor Buldygin Valeriy Volodymyrovich. Since 2012 the head of the department is Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, professor Klesov Oleg Ivanovich.
